National Governor’s Association Endorses Kennedy’s Wetlands Loan Act
St. Paul, Minnesota,
Mar 2 -
The National Governor’s Association (NGA) endorsed Mark Kennedy’s Wetlands Loan Act during their national meeting last week.
“I’m pleased the Governors Association has joined in my effort to protect natural habitat,” said U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kennedy. “I look forward to working with them to get this common sense bill passed in Washington so we can reap the benefit here at home. Governor Pawlenty has been a great ally in moving this legislation forward.”
Kennedy introduced the bipartisan Wetlands Loan Act with Democrat Congressman Mike Thompson last fall to help preserve and protect depleting wetlands by purchasing land at today’s prices funded with duck stamp revenues.
The Governor’s Association joined several wildlife groups including Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, The International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, The Nature Conservancy, the National Wildlife Federation, supporting Kennedy’s Wetlands Loan Act.
