Mark’s first grade class in the four room school house in Jenkins, MN - Notice Mark’s Junior Fire Marshall Pin
Kennedy’s parents set high standards for their children and taught them that good things come to those who work. Mark worked hard getting himself through college. If there was a job to do, he did it. Kennedy mowed lawns, raised cattle, bailed hay, picked strawberries for 25 cents a quart (not a pint), washed dishes, baked bread and fried donuts at one in the morning, pumped gas and sold bait.

Kennedy took the lessons learned from his youth - to work hard, think things through and challenge the status quo - to Washington with him to gets things done for Minnesota.
