Mark started off life sharing a room with his three brothers |
|
Kennedy’s family’s heritage of hard work and service carried down through the generations, right to the present day. Mark started out in life sharing a bedroom with 3 brothers, began working at 14 picking strawberries and pumping gas and was the first boy in his family to go to college.
But because we live in Minnesota and America, Mark married the girl of his dreams, got an MBA, spent 20 years in business, including here at Pillsbury, and was elected to the United States Congress, something Kennedy’s ancestors knew was possible, but would never have imagined.

Mark was the first boy in his family to graduate from college (and the first to enjoy paying back student loans) |
|
Fun Fact:
Mark’s parents, as a small town insurance agent and housewife, were able to get all seven of their children through college, the Kennedy family’s first generation of college grads. Kennedy’s parents gave each child $500 per year for four years (not five) and each child was responsible to earn the rest.

As a first generation college graduate, Mark understands the importance of education |
