Job Creation
Great things can happen if we trust the people and make sure government helps rather than hinders them as they pursue their dreams. This is especially true when it comes to growing the economy and creating jobs.
As a businessman, I learned first-hand how excessive taxes, regulations, litigation and government inefficiency hurt America’s economy and cost us jobs. As your Senator, I will continue to work for common sense policies to build on the millions of jobs during the recent recovery. I’ll keep working to keep taxes low, open foreign markets to our products, eliminate wasteful government spending, cut down on the junk lawsuits, and make health care more affordable.
Nothing brings me more satisfaction than visiting a Minnesota workplace, being shown a new machine and hearing, “this machine is here because of the tax relief you passed to get the economy going again.” Not only is this new machine making the business more competitive, but they’ve also hired more workers to run the machine.
This confirms my belief that we create opportunity and jobs not by growing government, but by leaving more money in the wallets of individuals to spend, save and invest. I believe that if you leave more money in the hands of families and small businesses, good things happen.
